Have you ever thought about how you shop? Is there a process you go through when you
decide to go out and buy something? I
think for most of us, that answer is no.
We need something, we go buy it!
Krimson & Klover is privileged to be a featured small business for
American Express’s Small Business Saturday happening November 30th. So our post today is all about how shopping
small businesses not only helps those small businesses, it helps you and your
local community!
Small businesses are all over the place, most of the time
they go unnoticed because they are never heard of. The budgets for large businesses far exceed
those of the smaller guys; so these businesses depend on their community to
share experiences with friends and family to help drive traffic to their
shops. If you don’t ever shop with these
smaller companies, you could really be missing out on some hidden gems! Most small companies offer a uniqueness you
cannot find at a large company, they bring jobs to your local community and
typically hire employees with a better understanding of the products or
services they sell. Studies show that
when you buy from an independent, locally owned business, significantly more of
your money is used to make purchases from other local businesses, which
strengthens the economic base of your community. Where we spend our money, from eating out,
where we shop to where we go to have fun, all of these go into to making our
community home. These small businesses
also have a chance to thrive from tourism. “When people go on vacation they
generally seek out destinations that offer them the sense of being someplace,
not just anyplace.” ~Richard Moe, President, National Historic Preservation
Trust
Now that we have done all this small business talk, Krimson
& Klover would like to share some of our favorite local businesses we love
to support.

Are you having a holiday party, corporate event or wedding
that needs something amazing? Let us
introduce you to our next small business favorite, Gro Floral & EventDesign.
This place is not your ordinary flower shop, this incredible team of
music lovers, color & texture experts and design specialists strive to go
above and beyond to bring you the best creative arrangements that will wow
every guest. At Gro they believe there
is always room to push boundaries and set new standards. Every event is meant to be unique and stand
out above the rest, so when you have a need for incredible arrangements, this
is your one stop shop!
Now, if you know us at Krimson & Klover, you know we
LOVE dogs! So it is pretty obvious we
have to include our favorite little pet shop in town, Urban Dogg. At Urban Dogg they take the pain out of
bathing your dog and replace it with a fun environment to help with the
process. They offer a self-service area
for you to wash your pet, or if you need them to take care of it there are also
full-service grooming packages available.
While you are there you can also pick up a bag of high quality dog food
and treats! So the next time it rains
and your dog looks you in the face before darting to the closest mud puddle and
rolling around, remember that Urban Dogg is there to help put that smile back
on your face and turn your now black dog back to that pretty shade of
white.
We can’t finish up this post without bringing you something
to fill your belly! We love that food
trucks have made a roaring come back…we have some excellent food truck options
in the DFW area, so today we bring you our favorite, Easy Slider. If you haven’t tried these fabulous sliders,
look up their calendar and hunt this
truck down ASAP! These gourmet sliders
are made with fresh ingredients from the Farmer’s Market and Certified Angus
beef! And guess what; they serve
Texas-born baby portabella mushrooms and desserts made locally…remember what we
were saying about your dollars staying local?
So go out, find this bright blue truck, fill your belly and get a free
high five!
These are just a few of our local favorites, so as we wrap
this LONG blog post up, remember to not only participate in American Express’s
Small Business Saturday November 30th, but start to think about how you decide on
where you are going to make certain purchases.
Our community and the awesome people who own these amazing places depend
on you to keep their doors open!
